Costa Rica Wedding Inspiration

Shawna and Tyler decided on a Costa Rica destination wedding.  More than anything, the couple wanted this special time with friends and family to be an exotic adventure. At first, the notion of planning a wedding from Houston seemed daunting, but the exceptional support staff at Casa Fantastica by Escape Villas ensured everything ran smoothly.  In fact, the only thing the couple had to think about on their Big Day was enjoying the company of their loved ones and having tons of fun. The weather in Manuel Antonio was sublime and the ceremony couldn’t have been more perfect!

Destination wedding in Manuel Antonio

The bride and groom wanted a venue that was private and luxurious but still large enough to accommodate a wedding party of at least 80 guests.   After seeing pictures of Casa F

antastica, perched high in the mountains overlooking Cathedral Point Peninsula, at the apex of Manuel Antonio National Park, the couple was sold.  Everything about the wedding villa was elegant and refined, and spoke of tropical decadence. A truly grand Salon and 3,000 feet of covered outdoor living areas ensured plenty of gathering areas and a custom-designed event tent on the lawn provided a cozy reception area and dance floor. Through various Skype chats and lots of emails, the couple conveyed their vision and hopes to the wedding planners.

Reception overlooking the Pacific Ocean

Tyler and Shawna, along with all of their friends and family, enjoyed a spectacular sunset during their ceremony. Brilliant oranges, magenta and pink hues seemed to light up the sky as the sun melted below the horizon. The reception dinner was flawless – prepared by Casa Fantastica’s talented team of gourmet chefs. Guests dined on a seafood salad featuring fresh shrimp and octopus, followed by rosemary-roasted lamb chops with apricot-mango salsa. A traditionalist at heart, Shawna opted for a classic three-tier vanilla wedding cake with buttercream frosting and decorated with gorgeous purple orchids. Their signature wedding cocktail was a coconut-lime mojito with mint, in celebration of Costa Rica’s tropical flavors.

Unique vacation experience for wedding guests

Everyone – even the grandparents – had an incredible vacation in Manuel Antonio. Together, friends and family took advantage of the virtual playground at their doorstep, and went hiking, surfing, ziplining, horseback riding and even parasailing. Shawna treated her best pals to an exclusive spa bridal party at Casa Fantastica for some pre-wedding pampering treatments. And Tyler took his groomsmen out for a day of offshore fishing, earning serious bragging rights with two giant sailfish. The whole experience was one they will cherish forever, as will their family and friends, who got to discover the real meaning behind “Pura Vida!”
